In this tutorial, she uses Maxtress Loose Wave bundles and a matching Loose Wave Frontal to make a stunning frontal wig.

How to Make a Frontal Wig

Precious demonstrated in a beautiful video tutorial the steps she used to create a glamorous frontal wig using Maxtress Loose Wave Hair. You can watch the video here or continue reading for detailed instructions on how Precious made her frontal wig with our human loose wave bundles.

What You’ll Need

Precious used a Maxtress 20-inch loose wave frontal closure and matching loose waves bundles (22”,24”,26”) to construct her wig. She begins by pinning down the frontal closure to the front of the wig cap. This is an important step to ensure that the wig lies flat.

Next, she begins sewing the frontal closure to the wig cap, which serves as the base. Make sure that the back of the frontal is sewn securely. This prevents bulkiness.

Sewing the Wefts

Once the frontal piece is sewn securely to the wig cap, it’s time to sew down the wefts. Precious uses a specific method to sew wefts to the wig base. Instead of starting in the very back of the base, Precious begins sewing down the wefts starting at the end of the closure piece. This cuts down on time spent sewing and still give you a full, voluminous wig. This will also give you a flat, sleek frontal wig.

To make the sewing process easier, pin the weft down to the base before sewing. Continue sewing the wefts up, using the fold-over method. As Precious sews, she loops the thread once or twice over the needle before making the next stitch. This ensures that the wefts are tight and secure to the base. This also prevents lifting during washing and styling.

Last Steps

After sewing the wefts all the way to meet the frontal, your wig is almost complete. The final step to completing the wig is washing and styling. Precious doesn’t go into much detail about her washing or styling process in the video. However, we always recommend using a mild conditioning shampoo. Be sure to follow up with the matching conditioner. Rinse well and allow the wig to air dry.  Follow up with an anti-frizz serum or hair milk for sleek, defined waves.

Final Thoughts

Precious describes the sewing process as long and tedious. We would agree, but the results are absolutely gorgeous. Her unique sewing method provided a flat, sleek wig that appeared very natural when worn.
